The Ultimate 64 (short form: U64) was developed by Gideon Zweijtzer and is a reimplementation of the C64. Unlike the C64 original, it is a completely new reimplementation of the C64 on an FPGA Basis. The U64 can be easily installed in a breadbox case. In a C64 II case, two suitable mounting brackets are needed. At the corresponding case openings the interfaces can be found like on an original C64.

Also integrated in the FPGA is the 1541 Ultimate-II+ from the same developer. The image signal is output as analog video signal and also as HDMI signal.
