Test/Demo-Diskette
From C64-Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Test/Demo Diskette, also known as the Utility Diskette, was a 5.25-inch disk enclosed with almost every piece of Commodore hardware (except for the datasette and home computers). It provided software to test if the hardware was functioning correctly, and it also demonstrated the hardware’s capabilities.
These programs (such as games, programming examples for sprites, hires, colour, sound, and DOS Wedge) were mostly written in BASIC with occasional machine language code. They helped programmers to understand the workings of the hardware, and as such they supplemented the supplied user manual or description leaflet.
