IEC-ATA
The IEC-ATA is an adaptor for connecting PC hard disks to the serial bus of a Commodore computer, with a number of hard- and software versions. The licence of the software is mostly under licence (GPL).
History[edit | edit source]
The project was started in 2002 by Asbjørn Djupdal for a diploma thesis. Since then he has only added one more board layout. The hardware is based on a AVR8515 Atmel AVR with 32KB S-RAM.
Since 2004, there has been further limited development conducted by the German C64 Tuesday Meeting group (DE:Dienstagstreff).
In 2005, the 1591 project was started under the influence of the IEC2IEEE488 (author: NLQ), which was also implemented on an Atmel. A new layout was created for this, the IEC-ATA V2 , whose flash EEPROM can be programmed from the C64.
